Legal Tender in the Kingdom

The history of legal tender for the Kingdom of Elleore is older than the kingdom itself. As early as 1938, coins and banknotes were issued by the Societas Findani who were later to become the rulers of the Kingdom of Elleore.

In the beginning, Drachme and Obol were the currency units, with 1 Drachme equalling 100 Obol. 

In 1948, the Stakat replaced the Drachme and the Obol. 1 Stakat equalled 10 Daler and 1000 Skilling.

In 1953, 1 Daler was further subdivided into 2000 Hvid. Special currency units were also introduced at the same time - 1 Disse equalled 340 Hvid, and 1 Mark equalled 330 Hvid.

In 1970, 1 Disse equalled 410 Hvid.

Beginning in 1979, all previous currency units were replaced by the new unit 'Leo d'Or'. As of 1 August 1984, all banknotes denominated in the previous units ceased to be legal tender.
